The World Premiere of SHADOWS was at the 2014 Oaxaca FilmFest, in Oaxaca, Mexico. Spotlight calls it “Sundance South of The Border.” MovieMaker: “Top 25 Festivals in The World!”
The Southeast Asian Premiere took place at the 2014 Balinale, the Bali International Film Festival, Indonesia.


SHADOWS has won Best Animation at the Williamsburg International Film Festival, Best Animation at the Tenerife International Film Festival, Best Animation at the Albany FilmFest, and Best Animated Short Film at the Martinique International Film Festival. It was also awarded a Special Jury Award at Worldfest Houston, an Award of Merit at the Best Shorts Competition, and a Best Director Honorable Mention at the Los Angeles Film Review Independent Film Awards.

Isaac Kerlow

Isaac is an independent filmmaker, artist and writer. He was born in Mexico City and his work typically deals with change, and the human condition. Isaac is based at the Earth Observatory of Singapore where he develops creative projects inspired by Earth science and natural hazards. Some of his recent films include The Tsunami of New Dreams (2015), SHADOWS (2014), Genesis (2012), Sudden Nature (2011) and Mayon: The Volcano Princess (2010). His recent work also includes the casual strategy game Earth Girl 2: Preparing for the Tsunami (2014) available as a free download from the App Store. Isaac is one of the pioneers of digital art and animation, and during his early career he also worked in the nascent video game industry. He worked at The Walt Disney Company for ten years, and he is also the founding chair of the legendary Department of Computer Graphics and Interactive Media at Pratt Institute in New York City during the late 1980s and early 1990s.


Nguyen Thi Nam Phuong

Phuong is interested in experimenting with different techniques and playing with color and composition to create a strong creative imagery for film and animation. Her short film “Innocent Memory” (2012) was screened during 2013 at the Singapore Short Film Awards, the VIFF ­Vietnamese International Film Festival in Irvine USA, the 11th Kecskemet Animation Film Festival in Hungary, and recently in the 2014 UK Film Week in Hanoi, Vietnam.


Jegannath Ramanujam

Jegannath is an animation artist based in Singapore. His thesis film “The Hunt” won Best Animation at the 2013 Hong Kong International Mobile Film Awards, and was nominated for Best Animation at the Singapore Short Film Awards. His work “Melts” won the Global Awareness award at  Washington University. Jegannath graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a degree BFA in Digital Animation, and he interned at Lucas Animation Singapore.


Liu Yang

Liu Yang approaches storytelling as a writer and an animator. She is currently based in New York where she writes stories that seek to capture the Chinese experience. Yang graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is now pursuing Creative Writing studies at Columbia University.


Junwei Tong

Junwei believes that passion is the fuel that defines and empowers creativity. He is adept at traditional and digital art media, and his creative experience includes concept art, storyboarding, visual effects and 3D visualization. Junwei graduated from NTU’s School of Art, Design and Media with a BFA (Hons) in Digital Animation, and also has a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Temasek Polytechnic.


Shermaine Tan

Shermaine Tan is an animator an illustrator who loves to watch Anime movies. She graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic’s program in Interactive Digital Media and spent a short but productive year at the Earth Observatory of Singapore.


Mark Cheung

Mark is a CG VFX artist based in Singapore. He is interested in exploring art and creativity through the combination of sound and visual design techniques. His recent  short “i!” was selected as top10 in the 2013 Punto y Raya / Reykjavik Visual Music Festival in Iceland.


Han Shengyi

Ambidextrous in production coordination and animation, Shengyi hopes to bring together different types of creators from around the world to create inspirational works for everyone. Shengyi graduated from the school of Art Design and Media NTU in 2012, with a degree BFA in Digital Animation.


Sergio Moure Oteyza

Sergio studied music theory at the Conservatori Liceu in Barcelona, Spain. In 2004 his work for “Unconscious” was nominated for Best Original Soundtrack at The Goya Awards (Spanish Oscars). In 2011 he collaborated with Oscar winner Stephen Warbeck on the soundtrack for “Cargo.” His latest soundtracks for feature films include — “Kidnapped,” “Game of Werewolves,” “All is Silent,” “The Body,” “Thesis on a Homicide,” and “Here’s the Deal.”


Liu Jing

Jing is an Chinese artist with a MFA degree in Animation. She is passionate about storytelling and hand drawing, and likes to use different animation techniques to tell stories.


Chen Jiao

Jiao is Chinese game designer, programmer, animator and manga artist, working out of Hangzhou, China. She graduated from the Animation and Digital Arts MFA program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.


Henry Zhuang

Henry graduated from the NTU ADM Digital Animation BFA program. His short “Departing” was screened at National Museum as part of 2014 Singapore Short Cuts. He creates animation in patnership with his brother through their company Weaving Clouds.


Fang Pei-Wen

Originally from Taiwan, Pei-Wen is a graduate of the Animation and Digital Arts MFA program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her graduate thesis “Journey” is an interactive game installation exhibited at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore in August 2013. Her interactive art installation “Caption,” a group project, was exhibited at the 2013 Singapore Night Festival.
